Oak Knoll’s varsity field hockey team continued its incredible legacy of dominance, earning its 16th consecutive Union County Tournament championship with a 2–1 victory over third-seeded Johnson (14-4) on Saturday at Oak Knoll’s Chatham fields.

The top-seeded Royals, now 16-1 and ranked No. 1 overall, secured the win in dramatic fashion — with a game-winning goal by Alex Sherman ’28 in the final minute of play.

Top-ranked Oak Knoll enjoyed byes in the first two rounds of the tournament before defeating Summit 5-0 in the semifinal round, paving the way for another thrilling championship victory.

The win also adds to the storied career of Head Coach Ali Good ’95, who boasts a .900 winning percentage and ranks third in New Jersey for all-time coaching victories. Now approaching her 450th win over 20 seasons, Coach Good’s leadership continues to set the standard for excellence in high school field hockey.

The Royals return to the field on Tuesday for a game against Newton as they continue their outstanding season and pursue even greater milestones in the Non-Public State Tournament.
