Jonah Tamayo is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s Union County Conference Male Athlete of the Week.
A 4-year member of the cross-country team, Tamayo has overcome some health issues to rebound and have an outstanding season on the trails.
Tamayo, a senior, ran a personal best of 16:36 to win the Mountain Division title at the Union County Conference Championships earlier this month at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. He followed that up by running 16:44 to finish10th at the Union County Championshoips last week at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth.
