Giovanna Echavarria is Elizabeth’s Union County Conference Female Athlete of the Week

Gio is one of the most dynamic attacking center midfielders in the county. A true playmaker, she has scored in at least 10 matches this season, leading her team to a 9-6-0 record. Gio has recorded multiple goals in five of those contests, bringing her season totals to 16 goals and 12 assists—matching her outstanding sophomore campaign.

Her career numbers are equally impressive, with 49 goals and 46 assists to date. Gio’s versatility allows her to strike confidently with either foot, presenting a constant challenge for opposing defenders. Her exceptional first touch, composure on the ball, and field vision enable her to control the tempo of play and deliver precise passes to her teammates.

Gio’s leadership and technical ability have made her a cornerstone of her team’s success, and she will continue her soccer career at Temple University on an athletic scholarship in the fall of 2026.
