Ellie McTigue is New Providence’s Union County Conference Female Athlete of the Week.Over the past two seasons, senior Ellie McTigue compiled a near-perfect 9-1 record in NJSIAA State Tournament play—a testament to her consistency, competitiveness, and poise under pressure. Even more remarkable: she recorded seven shutout sets (6-0) during those matches, showcasing her strength, precision, and mastery of doubles strategy.
McTigue’s strong net presence and sharp poaching skills are both keys to her game. Whether cutting off cross-court shots with striking volleys or surging forward to finish points, her assertive play consistently put pressure on opponents and set the tone in critical matches for the Pioneers.
Her efforts were instrumental in helping the Pioneers capture their 7th consecutive Central Jersey Group 1 Sectional Title.
