Bridget Davis has been named Union Catholic’s Union County Conference Girls Athlete of the Week.
The UConn-bound Davis is one of the greatest swimmers in Union Catholic history, smashing numerous school records during her memorable career as a Viking.
In the semifinal round of the State Non-Public B Championships vs. Bishop Eustace last Monday, Davis broke her own school record in the 200 freestyle when she swam 1:52.23. She also won the 500 freestyle in 5:10.38, swam on the winning 400 relay, and was a member of the runner-up 200 freestyle relay. With Davis leading the charge, the Vikings defeated Bishop Eustace, 88-82, to advance to this Sunday’s State Championship vs. Newark Academy.
Davis, in addition to the school record in the 200 free, also holds the school record in the 500 freestyle, and swam on the school record 200 free relay team ( 2:0 and on the 200 medley relay that swam a school record.
As a freshman in 2019, Davis won the 500 yard freestyle at the Union County Championship.
