Basketball star Annie Conover is New Providence’s Union County Conference Female Athlete of the Week.
Conover’s senior season picked up just where her last season ended – scoring points in bunches and leading the Pioneers to victory after victory on the court.
This past week, Annie dominated the box score, scoring 73 points, 29 rebounds, 11 assists, and 7 steals across 3 hard fought victories over Westfield, Plainfield, and Morristown. Annie passed the 1000 point milestone as a junior as she continues to work her way up the all-time New Providence scoring list – currently sitting at 1,359 career points.
Annie’s leadership, basketball IQ, and incredible work ethic are a major reason the Pioneers are ranked SEVENTH in the state of NJ (via nj.com), not only the top ranking small school (NP is a group 1 program), but the highest ranking public school OF ANY SIZE. The team is currently on an incredible 37 game winning streak under Annie and the rest of a strong senior class’s leadership!
