Several Union County athletes were honored on the NJ MileSplit All-State Cross-Country teams that were recently announced.

Leading the way on the boys team is Rahway senior Micah Lawson, who was named First Team All-State and the State’s Runner of the Year after a magical season that was punctuated by his victory at the Meet of Champions. Lawson joined Cliff Sheehan of Westfield (1980) as the only runners from Union County to ever win the M of C XC race.

Also named to the All-State boys team were Avery Keith of Westfield and Lucas Reguinho of Elizabeth on Second Team, and Ryan Chicocki and Alex Saldana of Union Catholic on Third-Team.

On the girls All-State Teams, Lindsay Hausman of Kent Place and Kaleigh Gunsiorowski of Union Catholic were chosen First-Team, Peyton Hollis was selected to the Second Team, and Courtney Kaiser of Union Catholic were named to the Third-Team.
