Visiting Cranford did not play its brand of soccer for the first 40 minutes, but still managed to produce a one-goal halftime lead. Host Union, with far less returning starters, hung in there and matched the Cougars in field position for much of the first half. Was is just a matter of time for Cranford? Perhaps.
