Congratulations to Jake Cermak of Cranford, who rolled a 300 on the first day of the Union County Tournament at Jersey Lanes on Monday. Cermak’s perfect game, which came on his final game, boosted his series total to 738 and puts him in first place heading into Wednesday’s final round of individual competition. Cermak’s efforts helped Cranford post the highest team score, and the Cougars will be the top seed at Thursday’s baker format team finals.

Roselle’s Elijah Boone rolled 10 strikes in his final game to roll a 289 and a 704 series. Linden’s James Fitz finished the first day in second place with a 704 series.

Elizabeth High School’s Ashley Noel, the defending UCT champ, rolled a 594, the highest series by a female bowler at Monday’s competition.

Bowlers listed below will return to Jersey Lanes on Wednesday, January 30 to bowl an additional three games. Scores are combined before step-ladder format to determine UCT individual champions.
