Sophia Kudrvashova – New Providence: Sophia won both events she entered in the Union County Swimming Tournament, breaking county records in each event.  The sophomore surpassed the county record in the 200-yard freestyle record by two seconds with a time of 150.61 and the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 51.14. These were the only two meet records set at the UCC meet this year. She won the 100-yard freestyle at the meet last year as a freshmen and finished second in the 50.
Greg Myers – New Providence: Greg averaged 20 points per game over three games to lead New Providence to a 2-1 week in league play.  The sophomores’ top game came against Oratory when he scored 24 points to lead the Pioneers to a 75-53 win. Greg hit 14 three-pointers over the span of three games and was the leading scorer for the Pioneers in all three games.
Emma Cieslinski – Roselle Park: Emma is averaging nine points and eight rebounds per game in her rookie campaign with the Panthers girls basketball team. She was the leading scorer and rebounder in a big win over Roselle last week. Emma has proven to be highly coachable and a great teammate during the process of rebuilding which is taking place in the girls basketball program.

Mark Montgomery – Roselle Park: Mark’s record this week was 5-0 with four pins and the match sealing victory vs. Scotch Plains on Friday night to give the team a one point win. Last weekend, he was also the Union County Champion in his weight class, as well as at the Panther Invitational Championship in late December. He hasn’t lost a match since opening weekend. Mark is a role model on the wrestling mat who leads by example and always comes to work with a positive attitude and an intense work ethic. He currently has all A’s and B’s and represents the Roselle Park wrestling program proudly as a STUDENT-Athlete.
