The ending played out just about as perfectly as possible for second-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood, No. 3 in the NJ.com Top 20, in a 1-0 overtime victory over fourth-seeded and No. 19-ranked Oak Knoll in the Union County Tournament final Friday night at Kean University.

Senior captain Sophie Brause lined up a kick in the 86th minute from 33 yards out, lofted the ball into the box and then fellow senior and captain Christina Rodgers used her height advantage to head a ball into the back of the net, lifting the Raiders to their seventh straight county crown.
